운파 박경랑 영문소개

Ms Park Gyongnang was born in 1961 in Goseong, Kyongsangnamdo Province. She is Korea's leading dancer actively engaging in teaching and performance in Seoul and Busan. Her maternal great-grand father had been the first important intangible cultural asset for the Goseong Ogwangdae performance. Like her great-grand father, she follows in the tradition of Youngnam dance.

At the age of four she became a disciple of renowned dance masters like late Kim Chang-hoo, late Cho Yong-bae, late Hwang Moo-bong, late Kim Soo-ak, Kim Jin-hong, Park Seong-hee, Kang Ok-nam, learning various traditional Korean dances and ballet. She was the principal dancer with Kyongsangnamdo Province dance company, Changwon City dance company. Her traditional Korean dance has been widely acclaimed as masterful. She is devoted to the study, transmission and preservation of traditional Youngnam dance, performing as well as participating as a judge for various dance competitions.
